PIGGING – It is a modern technology of cleaning pipelines of considerable length with a much shorter time of performing work in relation to other cleaning methods. The name derives from the acronym PIG, which is developed by the Pipeline Inspection Gaugue. It began to be used in North America. Thanks to its effectiveness and relatively short implementation time, it has gained popularity on 6 continents.
It is a method based on low pressure (up to 20 bar working fluid pressure) cleaning the internal surface of pipelines, decocking the coils of technological furnaces, etc. Using polyurethane cleaning heads with a diameter suitable for the pipeline being cleaned. The heads are equipped with cutting tools that detach the sludge from the surface of the pipe without damaging it. As the sludge sinks, the diameter of the next heads increases up to the nominal diameter of the pipeline and the efficiency of the pumps increases. In the final cleaning phase, a foam roller is applied to the pipe, which has been passed through the cleaned pipe several times to show how much the sludge has been removed.
The cleaning process is monitored on an ongoing basis by flowmeters and pressure characteristics, which allows you to track and supervise the progress of work and also prevent damage to the cleaned apparatus.
The PIGGING method is successfully used for cleaning pipelines of considerable lengths (up to a dozen or so kilometers), with persistent deposits ensuring an incomparably short cleaning time.
It is perfect for cleaning coils of technological furnaces, refining furnaces, power boilers or transmission pipelines.
The cleaning process in the closed circuit plays a significant role. This ensures low water consumption. Industrial waste (including hazardous) that is generated during cleaning is removed in a manner consistent with the regulations.
We clean pipes with diameters form 2 ” up to 12″ with this method.
For larger diameters, we use Hydrodynamical Cleaning Technique
Thanks to the technology used by us, we are able to clean two lines of piping simultaneously with the involvement of one machine. Similarly, we are able to perform more parallel works with the involvement of a larger number of our machines.
As a complement to our Offer, we offer pipeline inspection using the intelligent pigging method in subcontracting foreign companies.
